Authentication

Authenticate API requests using a Pura LLM API key in the Authorization header.

Getting an API key

API keys are created and managed from the Pura LLM console:

  1. Create an account or sign in to the console
  2. Go to API Keys and create a new key with a descriptive name
  3. Copy the key immediately — it is shown only once
  4. Use the key as Bearer token in your API requests

Authorization header

Include your API key in every request:

Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY

Security best practices

Never expose API keys in client-side code or public repositories. Use environment variables and rotate keys if compromised. Set per-key budget limits in the console.
